What we build

Every Deck, Built to Last

We work with a range of materials and styles to suit your space, lifestyle, and budget. Every option comes with the same attention to detail.

01

Pressure-Treated Wood Decks

The classic choice. Durable, cost-effective, and timeless. We use quality treated lumber rated for ground contact and Saskatchewan freeze-thaw cycles.

02

Composite Decking

Low-maintenance, long-lasting, and beautiful. Composite boards won't rot, splinter, or need annual staining. A great long-term investment.

03

Multi-Level Decks

Make the most of your yard's elevation changes or square footage with a thoughtfully designed multi-level build — dining up top, lounge below.

04

Deck Replacement & Repairs

Existing deck past its prime? We assess what's worth saving and replace the rest, leaving you with a solid, safe structure that looks brand new.

05

Railing Systems

From classic wood railings to sleek aluminum and glass panels — we install railing systems that meet code, look great, and hold up for years.

06

Pergolas & Shade Structures

Extend the season and add character with a pergola, privacy screen, or overhead shade structure designed to complement your deck perfectly.

Why choose LSR

You deal with Steven & Roger — not a foreman

We don't subcontract your project out. Steven and Roger are on site, doing the work, start to finish. That means clear communication and no surprises.

02

Built for Saskatchewan winters

We design with freeze-thaw cycles in mind — proper footing depths, correct drainage, and materials that don't buckle or heave when the temperature swings 70 degrees.

03

Honest estimates, no hidden costs

We walk the site, assess the scope, and give you a detailed quote before anything starts. What we quote is what you pay.

04

We follow the rules

Permits, setbacks, footing requirements — we handle it all properly. Your deck is built to code and to last, not cut corners to save a day.

FAQ

Common Questions

Everything you want to know before reaching out.

Deck costs vary based on size, material, and complexity. A basic pressure-treated deck starts around $8,000–$12,000 for a typical 12×16 ft build. Composite decks and multi-level designs will run higher — often $15,000–$30,000+. We provide a detailed, itemized quote after seeing your space so you know exactly what you're getting.
In most cases, yes. The City of Saskatoon requires a building permit for decks over 24 inches above grade, and there are setback requirements from property lines. We handle the permit application as part of our process — you don't have to navigate that yourself.
Pressure-treated wood costs less upfront but requires annual or bi-annual maintenance — staining, sealing, and the occasional board replacement. Composite decking costs more initially but requires almost no maintenance, doesn't splinter or rot, and holds its colour much longer. Over a 15–20 year period, composite often works out to similar overall cost. We're happy to walk you through both options during your quote.
Saskatchewan's frost depth means footings need to go well below the freeze line — typically a minimum of 4 feet. Skimping on footing depth is the most common reason decks heave, shift, and fail within a few years. We always build footings to code depth, and often a bit deeper depending on soil conditions.
From permit approval to final walkthrough, most single-level decks take 3–7 days of active construction. The permit process itself can take 2–4 weeks depending on city workload. We'll give you a realistic timeline during your quote so you can plan around it.
We build through the construction season — typically May through October. Spring and early summer fill up fast, so if you want a deck ready for summer entertaining, reaching out in late winter or early spring is the best move. We'll get you on the schedule before the rush.
Both. We assess existing decks and can repair or replace rotted boards, failing railings, and compromised footings. In some cases a repair is the right call; in others a full replacement is more cost-effective in the long run. We'll give you an honest assessment either way.
The easiest way is to text or call Steven at 306-262-2029. We'll set up a time to come see your space, talk through what you're thinking, and put together a detailed written estimate — at no charge and no obligation.
